Transforming Fear to Joy

As our national birthday approaches, our provincial borders begin to accommodate greater travel due to relaxing COVID 19 physical distancing restrictions. The heat of summer is upon us and with it brings the celebration of graduations and vacations. Positively speaking, we are not out of the woods yet. So stay safe and find peace as you travel through this unravelling uncertainty.

Below is a poem from my soon to be published poetry book called Gone Girl, which captures some of my thoughts and experiences as I considered my own feelings and fate.

Pandemic Peace

Something deep inside broke; a cord severed.
First thoughts, will it cripple or crown us?
Will ill-balanced responsibility melt into surrender?
Will relationships be rewritten by wide-opened hearts?

All around, hard-fought boundaries slip away
for resistance is futile when rebirth is afoot.
Purification and silver linings exist everywhere
gifting us with new responsibilities, new strengths.

Pausing  . . .  releases old demons and new wonders.
Simplified and set free, human and spirit join forces
serving up joyful intuition and conscious creation.
May pandemic peace adapt crisis into kindness.

May global peace prevail. Namaste.
