My heart is full having shared a Folk Festival virtual viewing with dearly loved friends. Note the Folk Festival wrist bands. This welcome gathering was safely allowed due to 10 days without the appearance of new COVID-19 cases.
In the safety and warmth of such goodness, I reflected on how privileged I am to know and love such people. Below is a little secret I contemplated as I sat in their midst. I wrote this poem during the height of our global isolation.
The Secret
A deep wisdom abides within all hearts.
It’s the universe’s best-kept secret.
A secret that remains hidden for many.
Only an unarmoured heart reveals its gift.
So many thoughts, so many opinions,
wall-in confusion preventing wisdom’s way.
So many reactive habits armour the heart,
cover over its purpose and deflect truth.
Unveiled, the heart exposes its secret,
and we see love disguised as truth.
Tell your truth to all who listen, and then,
witness the shower of love.
