Transforming Fear to Joy

After 10 months of growing Right to Joy as an online enterprise and reversing an 80:20 ratio from consulting:writing to writing:consulting, I feel as though we are turning a corner.  All our recent clients first connected with the web site to solidify their decision for our services.  Not unlike all birthing processes, we seeded our idea (transforming fear into joy), fertilized and nurtured the growing ‘cell’ by blogging twice weekly along with various other social media strategies, and in due course—nine months—we birthed an infant business.

Now, of course, a different kind of perseverance and patience is required.  That previous growth cycle was more contained within its protective cocoon to allow the ‘inner core’ or essence to emerge.  This growth cycle is ‘out in the world’ where all kinds of influence and demands can mold and shape.  The ‘infant’ has been freed to explore, experiment and follow unanticipated directions.  And thus, the adventure continues with the emergence of a new corner to peek around.

Round Every Corner

Like Alice falling down the rabbit hole,
I am curious to peek around the corner,
drawn to touch the waiting adventure.

Never contented to know each step before departure,
it was the wildness of the unknown journey,
the leap of faith that most excited my soul.

Alive, with one foot in the visible world
and the other invisible, so why
does this paradox perplex me now?

At times weariness overtakes this desire
to know with certainty what is unknown.
And I wish for a less daring path.

Then the wee small voice within registers,
“Courage only requires one step,
one small step, at a time.”
