Transforming Fear to Joy

Yesterday, our STS community considered the ecosystem within which individuals, organizations and networks live and work.  Both the implications of New Economics and Big Data were addressed relative to the impacts on our own emerging experience of Big Design.  That is, how we, as organization designers, find ourselves simultaneously co-designing at the firm, network and ecosystem level to meet client needs.

The introduction of the TED Talk format allowed interested members to have their “14 minutes of fame” while sharing their current client case study, book or theory development.  We ended the day with an “inner fishbowl” design exercise with our Generation X & Yers.   Baby Boomers, more affectionately labeled as dinosaurs, sat in the outer fishbowl to observe, listen and eventually share insights.   One might risk predicting a creative and much-desired impact on next year’s Montreal design process and team.
