At its core, “We Are All Creators” reflects the fundamental human reality that we constantly shape our lives, relationships, and environments through our daily thoughts, words, and deeds. Whether intentionally building art or simply navigating interactions, creativity is inherently woven into our human experience.
As an example, rather than viewing ourselves as victims of circumstance, we can take responsibility for our lives and shift our perspectives to become an active, positive force. As an “outside” creator, we can build art, businesses, or content that uplift and enlighten. As an “internal” creator, we can shape our minds, bodies, and futures to support similar outcomes.
Even though outer and inner conflict can inhibit decision-making and acting in the world, they can also heighten our awareness of where to begin our creative self-investigation. In a world confronted with multiple wars and explosive violence, life’s reflective mirror signaled to me a great need for inner peace. That was 45 years ago, long before I understood that my peaceful actions have peaceful consequences. Despite my warring ego, my calm, intentional spirit again and again sought and manifested peaceful co-existence.
Research highlights two primary benchmarks for large-scale social change. Peaceful civic movements can force transformative policy changes when a committed 3.5% of the population actively participates. Political scientist Erica Chenoweth’s extensive research into 20th-century political campaigns revealed that 3.5% is a highly powerful threshold. This level of active participation causes massive economic, political, and social disruption, ultimately leading to institutional concessions or elite defections.
For shifting everyday societal habits and behaviors—such as combating workplace harassment or altering community beliefs—a landmark study published in the journal Science by Damon Centola pinpointed 25% as the critical tipping point.
And finally, some social psychology and computer network modeling studies suggest that when a 10% committed, unwavering opinion base is established, it can frequently disrupt an established majority. This serves as an early warning sign of a shifting culture before it reaches the more substantial 25% norm-shifting threshold.
If 10% is the initial turning point for social change, imagine what we can create when 800,000,000 peace lovers actively express and manifest this intention. Public opinion data suggests that nearly 73% of the global population supports world peace as a desirable ideal. While theoretical consensus for peace is overwhelmingly high, global peacefulness itself is not. So all you potential peaceniks awaken, breathe, and create peace within, between, among, and beyond.
Pipes and Stripes
Great beauty and great storms co-exist
in every moment, every event, everybody.
Past, present, fiction, fantasy, and creation,
preside in the many forms that life shapes …
the chaotic busyness of underground steam pipes
criss-crossing purposefully to multiple destinations,
the multitudes jaywalking congested intersections
unabashedly living life in a New York minute,
the unexpected emergence of bigger-than-life,
who-could-have-guessed experiences …
all leave their stripes on us.
Amidst all impressions, and despite busyness,
our inner artist seeks form in the outer world.
A seldom-spoken truth, we remain incomplete
until our impressions become expressions.
Awaken, breathe, create. Expression blissfully
elevates and enlightens all who bear witness.
