Transforming Fear to Joy

Are you a New Year’s resolution maker?  Do you need a little inspiration this year to trigger what is important to you?  Each of us seeks to learn and grow in our own unique ways.  I found the Dalai Lama’s list for living a good life a wonderful transformation tool for clients I am currently coaching through transition.  Here’s the exercise they did to help them focus their thoughts, words and deeds in meaningful ways for the upcoming 12 months.

Read through the list below.  Choose five items (from the original 20) that most speak to you and your current experience.  For each of the five you choose, create one action/solution you can take to support your forward movement toward mastery.  For the next five weeks, work on one action per week.  Each day hold your focus on that solution and notice the opportunities that emerge for you to practice the new you.

At the end of your five weeks, meditate on what has shown up for you, what you have learned and what might be a good next step to take you even closer to your goal of self-mastery.  If you are so inclined, write about your experience and I will post it on my web site in Awareness Writing (Joy Tribe).
